Best Drive-Thru Christmas Lights and Holiday Displays in Utah (2025 Guide)

Every year my family and I have a tradition of seeing as many Christmas lights as we can. Its hard to know which one is the most affordable, closest to you, and have the best lights! We’ve rounded up the top spots for 2025.

I’ve created a list for those families that love the lights, and hate the research. At the end of this article I’ve included a checklist with all of the Christmas light displays, so if you’re anything like my family, you can check them off as you go! I will update this article as new discount codes become available. This list isn’t in any particular order, they are all fantastic options. You’ll want to do what is closest and affordable for your family this holiday season.

Top Drive-Thru Christmas Lights in Utah

If your family doesn’t like to get out in the cold, these are great options for you!

1. Festival of Lights โ€“ Spanish Fork

The Festival of Lights has always been a top favorite in our family. This is one we go to every year. The location is great, the line is always fast, and the prices are reasonable. This is their 32nd year of doing the lights, and it has become so popular that you need to get tickets in advance! This may be a drive-thru light show, but it is no longer drive-up. Be sure to get your tickets online before you go.

  • Location – Canyon View Park, 3300 E. Powerhouse Rd, Spanish Fork
  • Opening – November 1st, 2025
  • Cost for single family Vehicle – $10 (Prices are DOUBLE if you try to drive up, reserve your spot ONLINE)

2. Christmas in Color โ€“ South Jordan & American Fork

This year Christmas in Color is bringing their drive-thru Christmas lights to American Fork! They will be located at Ark Dye park! This will be such a good location, we don’t currently have any drive-thru Christmas lights in Central Utah County, so this location will be POPULAR.

  • Location – Bastian Center in South Jordan & Ark Dye Park in American Fork
  • Opening – November 15th, 2025
  • Cost for single family Vehicle – TBD
  • How to get Tickets – You MUST have a reservation. They do NOT allow drive-ups.

3. World of Illumination – Salt Lake City

This drive-thru light show is so unique! Each year they have a different theme so you don’t see the same lights each year. This year (2025) the theme is Enchanted Safari. So you can expect lots of fun animals alongside the colorful lights.

  • Location – Utah State Fair Park
  • Opening – November 19th, 2025
  • Cost for single family Vehicle – $39.99 plus tax
  • How to get Tickets – You MUST have a reservation. They do NOT allow drive-ups. Click here to get tickets.

4. Frosty’s Winter Wonderland

I haven’t personally been to this one, but I’ve heard great things about it, and it’s on our bucket list this season! This is “Mr. Frostys” yard, and each year he makes it bigger and better! You can view the lights from your car, or you can get out and get up close.

  • Location – 805 E 18th Ave SLC
  • Opening – Currently no opening date. You can check here for updates.
  • Cost for single family Vehicle – FREE

5. Pond Town Christmas – Salam, Utah

Though this light show may be small, it is FREE! You’re able to drive around and see the lights, or for a better view, you can get out and get a great view on the bridge.

  • Location – 259 W Salem Lake Dr in Salem
  • Opening – Typically opens late November
  • Cost for single family Vehicle – FREE

6. Staheli Family Farm Holiday Lights – Washington, UT

This is a super cute family farm that does seasonal events. Each winter they put on a Christmas Light Show. In 2024, you could drive your personal car Tuesdays – Thursdays, and other days they offered a wagon ride to see the Christmas Lights! Such a fun way to get out of the house with your kids and see lights without having to chase the kids around.

They also offer gingerbread displays, train rides, crafts with Santa’s helpers, and more family friendly activities.

Top Walk-Thru Christmas Light Shows in Utah

If you have young children (like me) and want to burn off some energy before bed, these walk-thru Christmas Light Show’s may be a good option for you! The kids will have lots to run around and see, and I know my toddler will be nonstop when we visit these walking light show locations.


1. Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point

We LOVE visiting Luminaria each year. Though it can be expensive, if you have a memebership you do get a discount. You can easily spend hours here walking around. I recommned the VIP pass if you like hot chooclate, you get a cup that you’re able to refill as many times as you’d like during your visit. They have LOTS to do for kids and toddlers to do during the walk through the lights. A top favorite for our family.

  • Opening – November 13th – January 10th
  • Cost per person – $23 per adult, $18 per Child, 3 and under FREE

2. Zoo Lights at Hogle Zoo

Another Kid friendly light show is the zoo lights at Hogle zoo! They also offer a “silent night” which is a sensory friendly light show. They only offer lights on select nights, and they are NOT included with your daily entrance. Santa will be there as well!

  • Location – 2600 Sunnyside Ave (840 South), Salt Lake City, UT 84108
  • Opening – November 13th – January 10th
  • Cost per person – $21.95 per adult, $17.95 per Child, 2 and under FREE

  • Promo code – Purchase tickets online for $2 discount. Military gets $3 off per ticket. *May not work for zoo light show.

3. Temple Square Christmas Lights

Another great FREE option is Temple Square. We also do this one every year. Our family thing to do is to ride Trax to downtown, walk through City Creek Shops, and head to the lights once it’s dark. It’s fun for the kids and is a great way to spend time with your family. If you’re driving into Salt Lake City, the best place to park is City Creek underground parking.

  • Opening – November 28th – January 1st
  • Cost – FREE

This is such a fun tradition in Park City. On their main street each Christmas season, they have 7 life-sized snow globes. These snow globes are decorated by local artists and change each year. Each snow globe has 1 silver snowflake, can you spot it? Visit Park CIty’s website to see where each Snow globe will be located on Main street so you don’t miss any.

5. Christmas Cruise at CLAS Ropes Course – Provo

The Christmas Cruise is a unique way to see Christmas lights. They have lit up the Provo River for the holidays! They have a 40 person boat that you get on and enjoy a stroll down the Provo River looking at the Christmas displays they’ve put on the sides of the river. If you’re looking to try something different this year, this may be a good place to start!

  • Opening – December 1st – 23rd, 2025
  • Cost – Mon- Thurs – $10 per person ($1 kids 2 and under), Friday & Saturday – $12 per person ($2 kids 2 and under)

6. Tracy Avery Lightwalk

Tracy Avery is an incredible non-profit organization that helps wild birds of all kinds. They have also been a great community outreach for those who find injured or hurt birds and have been able to help them. This is a great way to support a non-profit, and spend time with your family this holiday season.

  • Opening – November 21st – 26th; November 28th – December 23rd; December 26th – December 31st

Holiday Lights Wagon Ride – Heber

If you’re looking for something truely unique and magicaly this holiday season for your family, this may be it. You’re able to see Christmas Lights by a horse drawn wagon ride. Located in Heber City, this is a great tradition you could start with your family.

Limo Christmas Light Experience – Lehi Area

Such a great way to do something different. You get picked up at your house in a Limo, the back of the Limo has a hot chocolate bar for your to enjoy, and she drives around to see different houses that go all out for Christmas. No planning on your end, just get picked up and enjoy! The ride is roughly an hour long.

  • Opening – All of December
  • Location – Lehi area – You will be picked up from your house!
  • Cost – $100 for up to 10 people
